
Diane Sentowski
Diane Christine Sentowski (née Rattner), age 82, passed away peacefully at home on March 8, 2026, in Chicago, Illinois. Born on July 11, 1943, in Chicago, Diane spent her life surrounded by family, friends, dogs, and the activities she loved most.
Diane was a devoted wife of 58 years to her husband, Jerome F. Sentowski, and a loving mother to her daughter, Susan. She was a cherished sister to the late Daniel (Anita) Rattner and to Darlene Rattner. Aunt to Kristopher (Jessica Byrd) and a great-aunt to Piper, Kinsley, and Josephine Rattner. She was also a devoted dog mom to Lake, Duck, and Mera. Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Evelyn Rattner (née Jarzembowski).
From an early age, Diane developed a love for fishing and cherished time spent on the family pontoon boat. Her passion for animals was evident throughout her life-she never met a dog she didn’t adore. Diane found immense joy in training and competing with her beloved dog, Splash, in scent work, earning multiple titles along the way. She also delighted in attending dock diving events with family dogs, proudly cheering them on as they competed all while working the merchandise booth for the Chicagoland Dock Dogs Club.
In addition to her love of animals and the outdoors, Diane enjoyed crafting, gardening, and expressing her creativity through a wide variety of projects. Her hobbies reflected her vibrant spirit and deep appreciation for life’s simple pleasures.
Diane will be remembered as a caring and loving wife, mother, sister, and friend whose warmth touched all who knew her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who shared in her life’s journey.
